Seven Eye launch skeletal trailer tracker
Seven Eye have launched a new tracking device that can be fitted to skeletal trailers used in the container transport logistics market.

The Seven Eye research and development team have designed a covert unit that can be installed easily to provide constant trailer monitoring, whether connected or disconnected from the tractor unit.

Rob Hart General Manager of Seven Eye commented,'We have successfully developed advanced truck and trailer tracking units but we recognised that skeletal trailers needed a whole new rethink. Currently we have five units out on trial and are delighted with the results so far. The container transport industry has long been a target for would be thieves and generally the first step taken in any attempted theft is to split the truck and trailer combination. This system will allow the most theft attractive part of the combination, the trailer, to be tracked. With Geo-Fencing systems available as standard the system can alert owners and operators immediately trailers move outside of their depots by SMS text messages, email or voice alert calls to any predefined number'.

The system developed by Seven Eye also has the capacity to electronically identify the tractor unit on the front of a trailer fitted with the system and relay the information back to a central location.

Funding the cost of the system can be as simple as offsetting the savings made in reduced voice calls to the driver or through the reduction in risk of loss.

Seven Eye has a limited number of units available for demonstration purposes where potential users can fully assess the units capabilities under trial conditions in their own operating environment.
