La Maison have therefore purchased Asset Track from Seven Eye in order to provide live, 24/7 web-based location tracking for all of their delivery vehicles. This system also has the ability to connect to the existing on-board TranScan 2 temperature recorder to remotely monitor the air temperature in the refrigerated compartment and provide alarm alerts back to base when this temperature varies outside predetermined settings. The Seven Eye web site is extremely easy to use and provides La Maison with instant access to the pin-point location of each vehicle in the fleet plus simultaneous display of the compartment temperature in either a graphical or numeric list format. Clear indications of the route and timings taken by the vehicles are displayed together with temperature history and events such as door openings.
Importantly the Asset Track system provides much more than just vehicle location and temperature data and La Maison intend to utilise a number of the optional facilities available. The addition of a telephone voice kit, for example, will enable simple and cost effective voice communication with the driver in order to redeploy the vehicle if necessary. Personalised RFID tagging for the driver will also be employed. This will provide additional vehicle security through the inbuilt vehicle immobiliser function and will automatically compile individual activity reports for each driver to enable working hours to be determined exactly. This facility greatly simplifies payroll calculations and provides record keeping in compliance with working time regulations.
Alan Kemp, La Maison Transport Manager comments, It is an essential part of our customer service to be able to deliver our products in perfect condition and in good time. Thanks to the Seven Eye system we can now have straightforward access to both the precise location of our delivery vans and the condition of the products that they are carrying. This will mean that we can provide an even more flexible and reliable service to our customers.
Steve Strong, Account Manager at Seven Eye adds, La Maison are renowned for the quality of their products and the first class customer service that they offer. We believe that the use of Seven Eye systems on their newly expanded fleet will not only allow La Maison to enhance this service even further, but will in addition provide them with numerous tangible benefits in operational efficiency.
Following the decision to implement Seven Eye systems on their delivery vehicles La Maison des Sorbet are now in further discussions with Seven Eye to investigate the possibility of incorporating Lone Worker Security Devices into a monitoring system fitted to their brand new purpose built freezer store at their N London depot. This device is a vitally important tool which can assist in the compliance with Health and Safety at Work Regulations and is part of the Seven Eye web based temperature monitoring system.
Each operative working in the freezer store will have a discrete Loan Worker sensor fitted to their protective clothing. This can provide a panic alarm back through the web service to a central computer. The panic alarm can be activated manually, by the operative if he finds himself in any difficulty, or automatically, if the operative is incapacitated in a prone position for a specific period of time. Given that the temperature in the freezer is regularly below -25C the Seven Eye Loan Worker Device will provide peace of mind to operatives and management alike that anyone working alone in this area can rely on rapid back up in the case of any difficulty that may arise which would otherwise prevent a speedy exit from the sub- zero conditions.
